At Flourish Sussex we want to teach you the best kind of floristry, in a fun, relaxed and informative environment. We offer career course training programmes, plus seasonal floristry workshops for flower enthusiasts. We have a wealth of knowledge that we share with our students, we want everyone to come away from Flourish Sussex Flower School feeling inspired, confident and ready to embark on their floristry journey. A wonderful creative school offering up to date, creative and inspiring floristry courses here in Sussex and Brighton.
Our beautiful school is based in the picturesque village of Hurstpierpoint, ten minutes outside the city of Brighton and Hove, surrounded by the most beautiful cutting garden. There is parking on site.
THE TWO WEEK CAREER COURSE
Build a sustainable and profitable floristry business that you love, that fits around your life, by joining us on our two week career course. Our intensive two week career course covers all the fundamental principles in floristry, plus elaborate wedding design and business building programmes.
THE FOUNDATION FOR BEGINNERS COURSE: FIVE DAY INTENSIVE COURSE
Our Foundation for Beginners course is a five day intensive course covering all the most popular of designs in floristry, along with giving students a business insight into the industry. It is the perfect stepping stone into training, providing skills for beginners to master the foundation in floristry before embarking on more elaborate designs.
THE WEDDING COURSE: FIVE DAY COURSE
The Wedding Course is a five day intensive course where students embark on a creative journey into the world of weddings and events. Across the five days students will learn to create detailed displays including a cloud, table gardens, archway, table centres and styling, bridal bouquet and staircase arrangement. We also spend an afternoon with a student from Flourish who is now working in the industry.
AN INTRODUCTION TO FLORISTRY: ONE DAY CLASS
Join us for a day at Flourish Sussex Flower School and spend the time learning about colour, shape, texture and nature.During the day you will create two displays including a seasonal bouquet and a table runner. This is the perfect class for anyone wanting to dip their toes into floristry or to spend a day with flowers.
Online Business Programme
Along side the practical work we also teach the business side of the floristry industry. Our business programme runs twice a year and consists of weekly modules that are released over a seven week period. Online tutor sessions are available for questions and support. The course is run by Alicia and industry experts. The course is designed to give students all the building blocks you need to build a profitable and sustainable business. A day at Pitfields is also part of the course, where we network and work through business exercises.
SEASONAL WORKSHOPS: Join us for one of our hand tied bouquet classes, peony workshops, wreath making!
At Flourish Sussex we have a wonderful community of florists and growers all of whom have trained at Flourish Sussex and have gone onto set up their own businesses. Location: Tens minutes outside of Brighton & Hove, surrounded by the most beautiful cutting garden.
As of March 2023 our school will be ran from Pitfields Cutting Garden based in Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex, which is ten minutes outside the city of Brighton and Hove, and fifty minutes outside of London. We have parking on site and are surrounded by a beautiful cutting garden.
Nearest Train Station: Hassocks, then its a five minute taxi ride.
